Flood: The Overdose Epidemic in Canada

Flood: The Overdose Epidemic in Canada

There’s no sugarcoating it – Canadian lives are being taken at an alarming rate due to fatal overdoses. From 2016 to 2019 more than 12,800 Canadians have lost their lives at the hands of this epidemic. So why is there not a blinding bright spotlight as hot as the surface of the sun being shined on this issue? Province-to-province grassroots initiatives provide harm reduction services, prevent overdoses, and reverse overdoses when they happen. From health inequality to a discriminatory drug policy, everyone alive today grew up surrounded by deep stigmatization towards drugs and the people who use them. Flood: The Overdose Epidemic in Canada is a documentary that aims to reduce the stigma around substance use and inspire others to take action.
